In the wake of COVID lockdowns, independent music venues the country over experienced existential crises, imminent closure and corporate takeovers — but the problems didn’t begin there. The story of venues vs. developers and megapromoters was already well underway before being exacerbated by a worldwide pandemic. This documentary follows Exit/In owner Chris Cobb as he wages a heroic effort to advocate for venues nationwide — while struggling to keep the legendary Nashville venue afloat at home. Features performances by local musicians Alanna Royale and Diarrhea Planet, among others.
