One year after a group of impetuous teenagers — notably consisting of Cindy (Anna Faris), Bobby (Jon Abrahams), Ray (Shawn Wayans), and Brenda (Regina Hall) — accidentally hit a pedestrian with their car, they all decide to dispose of his body in a lake and never discuss it again. But the gang is forced to reap what they sow when an infamous masked killer stalks and kills them all one by one.
In typical Y2K fashion, SCARY MOVIE is an over-the-top melodrama — rounded out by its relentless humor and no-holds barred violence. Spoofing some of the most iconic commercials, television shows and horror films from the prior decade (distinctly THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, SCREAM and THE SIXTH SENSE), the Wayans Bros pioneered a genre parody entirely in a league of its own. With no grace spared and no joke left unturned, SCARY MOVIE exists uniquely at the triumphant intersection of comedy and horror — tugging on those heartstrings of ‘90s nostalgia every step of the way.
