Celebrate this Friday the 13th IN SPACE!

In the year 2455, Old Earth is now a contaminated planet abandoned for centuries –– a brown world of violent storms, toxic landmasses and poisonous seas. Yet humans have returned to the deadly place that they once fled — not to live, but to research the ancient, rusting artifacts of the long-gone civilizations. But it’s not the harmful environment that could prove fatal to the intrepid young explorers who have just landed on Old Earth. For them, it’s Friday the 13th — and Jason lives!

In this last-ditch effort to maintain the rights to the iconic Crystal Lake serial murderer, Jason Vorhees (Kane Hodder) takes one giant leap for Slasherkind with a treasure trove of obnoxious space cadets as his unwitting victims. A critical and box office failure at the time of its release, the film has garnered a bit of a cult following for its ludicrous plot, trashy execution, and fun kills in the ensuing years. Also, David Cronenberg is there. What’s not to love?

“Nine years on from the last straight-to-video FRIDAY THE 13th sequel, the franchise is here revived by a film that manages to be better than the previous — nine entries put together…. Wittily scripted, smartly directed and well-played by an unfamiliar cast.” —Kim Newman, Empire Magazine

“A happily self-aware body-count flick that's as brutally funny as it is plain-old brutal. A broad slash of scary, sci-fi fun, the project leapfrogs all the SCREAM and LAST SUMMER  junk to carve itself a new, high-tech niche.” —Gregory Weinkauf, New Times (L.A.)
