“An eye-opening delight — a visit with charming old men who modestly recall the music-drunk paths they took to forming the defining band of the classic-rock ’70s.” —John DeFore, The Hollywood Reporter
Now playing DISCOVERING LED ZEPPELIN > bit.ly/DISCOVERING-LED-ZEPPELIN.
Sometimes-Nashvillian Robert Plant and his three droogs — Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones (also no stranger to Nashville and the Belcourt, no less) — blew the tail-end of the ‘60s’ British Invasion wide open with their raw, blues-drenched, riff-heavy rock and roll. And the rest — through their 10 albums and enduring legacy — is history. Billed as the first authorized doc on one of the biggest bands in history, the real story here is the in-depth exploration of the rise of the band as specifically relates to the incubation period in and around their first two albums. If a film for every two albums is the plan, then we cannot WAIT for the next four films.

“Invigorating and enlivening.... An interogative reverie about colonialism, culture, and the past and present." —The Guardian

Just announced! On Sun, Mar 9 from 12-1pm, beloved Nashville-based actor (+ Belcourt member!) Alicia Witt discusses her prolific oeuvre of work with David Lynch!
Tickets are $16/$13 (Belcourt members) — and go on sale to Belcourt members this Mon, Feb 10 at 10am; any remaining general tickets go on sale Tue, Feb 11 at 10am. Tickets and infor here > bit.ly/Remembering-David-Lynch-with-Alicia-Witt (Please note: if you purchased a Ticket 5-Pack for David Lynch: A Retrospective, Mar 7-19, those tickets are for films only and cannot be used for this special event.)
From her film debut as Alia Atreides in 1984’s DUNE to her role as Gersten Hayward in Twin Peaks (a role she later repri!sed in Twin Peaks: The Return) to her work in Lynch’s Hotel Room anthology series, we’ll explore Alicia Witt's working relationship with the inimitable artist and illustrate the seminar with clips from these projects. And stick around after the conversation for a screening of DUNE (1984) at 1:15pm (ticketed separately).
(Because L.A. was David Lynch’s chosen home, a constant source of inspiration, and a frequent setting of his films, it only feels appropriate to donate a portion of the proceeds for this event via The Souls Point Fund to support rebuilding following the recent devastating fires. Founded by filmmaker Mark Duplass, The Souls Point Fund is a nonprofit grassroots relief organization focused on sustainable rebuilding and ensuring no one is left behind, especially those who might be overlooked by larger efforts.)
