In 1975, a ragtag group of misfits took to the stage and changed the course of comedy for all time. They might not have been ready for prime time when they arrived at Studio 8H, but their tenure at Lorne Michaels’ generation-defining sketch show prepared them for the big time. This modest collection of some of the great cinematic exploits of Saturday Night Live’s most iconic writers and performers celebrates the distinct comedic stylings of a true American institution celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
