Carlos Whittaker is an author, speaker, podcaster, and Instagram influencer. That means he literally makes a living on screens, through screens, and for screens. Even this documentary is only viewable via screens.
Since smartphones became mainstream only 20-some years ago, our lives have been evermore intertwined with screens and media consumption. This film will bring you through the pains of learning to disconnect from screens and the joys of reconnecting with yourself and others face-to-face. This film isn’t about how bad phones are; it’s about how beautiful life is on the other side.
While Carlos was without screens for 7 weeks, he did have a camera along to capture the entire journey. Those recordings, in addition to post-experiment interviews, come together to build a beautiful story that will remind viewers to notice, wonder, behold, and savor their days. Directed by Hodges Usry.
